"The oxbow lake: neanderthal blues ep
everything about this six song collection screams, it shouldn't work!' it's ...it's...dirty blues, that sounds like something torn straight from america's deep south...it's played on acoustic guitars, whistles, cello, accordion and djembe... it's tribal and half the songs are barely over a minute long...it shouldn't work...
but the minimalistic lyrical content and raw intertwining arrangement make this one of the most interesting collection of songs played on the RubyRuby stereo for a long time.
the opening track 'neanderthal blues' delivers everything that someone wants from a blues song and the inclusion of an accordion is as enjoyable as unexpected. this song wouldn't be out of place on the true blood soundtrack.
medicine man may only be around one minute ten seconds long but it has more interesting musical twists than the entire pcd singles back catalogue.
the final song on the ep, we will pass is of epic proportions (well by oblo standards); it's almost four minutes long. it's a slow, haunting tune that shows of the musicality of the band and it really leaves a lasting impression."

....sunshine folk played by infectiously happy people.....
....you have an amazing amount of talent in the band ... i went home and listened to your ep in a darkened room on my stereo it was brilliant....
....would be good to see live at a festival in the summer when you can sit on the grass, chill out and listen....
....an absolute stormer....
